2009 Use Statistics for Virginia Fruit Page

The Virginia Fruit Home Page received 10,097 page views from January through December 2009, based on numbers acquired from the Virginia Tech server for actual requests (not in-page counters). But such views to the home page itself represents only the tip of the iceburg. Altogether there were 418,22 page views to pages within this web site in 2009, a maximum since the site went on-line in 1997, and an 18% increase from the previous year.

Of the fruit crops represented in the Virginia Fruit Page the
Grape page received the most use (4,063 page views), followed by the Apple Page (3,309 views), the Small Fruit page (1,861 page views), the  Peach Page (1,843 page views), and the Pear Page (1,243 page views).

The site continues to be used by both commercial and home fruit producers, reflected by use statistics for pages based on Virginia Tech pest management recommendations. There were 26,530 page views associated with the Spray Bulletin for Commercial Tree Fruit Growers (42% Apple, 29% Peach and Nectarine, 12% Pear, 11% Cherry, 6% Plum), 2,.373 page views to pages associated with the Spray Guide for Commercial Vineyards, 2,771 page views to pages associated with the Spray Guide for Commercial Small Fruit (50% Blueberry, 29% Strawberry, 21% Caneberry), and 15,107 page views to pages associated with the Spray Guide for Home Fruit (49% Apple and Pear, 17% Grape, 16% Stone Fruit, 8% Blueberry, 7% Strawberry, 5% Caneberry). (In the VCE website, the PDF version of the commercial tree fruit guide received 13,399 visits, the commercial vineyard site received 4,775 visits, the commercial small fruit guide received 2,370 visits, and the home fruit guide received 9,869 visits).
