Genus Cymindis

Cymindis americana Dejean

Length: 12 - 15 mm. Range: Iowa, east to Atlantic. Not common. Piceous, feebly shining, legs, antennae, humeral spot and narrow side margins of elytra pale reddish brown; sides of thorax curved in front. Striae of elytra deep, finely punctured, with coarser punctures on the rather flat intervals.
